I find that there is great satisfaction in the concentration of creating -using my knife and brushes and an unrestrained palette to layer colour and texture; finding the item that makes the perfect collage fit; experiencing the result.
Scratching the inexplicable itch I have to share my joy and sorrow.
A visual artist, I started painting with oils and representational work, then journeyed toward abstract expression. I work with a myriad of mediums, tools, and genres referenced from a comprehensive collection of observations, memories and photographs. I will paint a landscape today, and collage a chair tomorrow.
My work has been described as "intriguingly intense" and "visceral". I choose to communicate and share the rawness of emotion – both its strength and weaknesses -through the abstracts of my art.
